For instance, high GPA’s are great but might give the impression that you lived in a book and didn’t develop any social skills. On the other hand, if it’s a low GPA, it may appear that you had a greater ability to absorb alcohol rather than information. Either way, it’s best just to exclude it.

And for references I don’t think I need to really explain that one but I will. My best references are a big businessman in my state, a state senator, and most importantly a judge. With these three references along with some other character references I am almost guaranteed the job even before going into the interview, so sometimes I just place my references at the top of my resume to save the interviewer time.
